Jacob Ellis

Consultant in Liaison Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychological Medicine, UCLH, University College Hospital.


Dr Ellis is currently a liaison psychiatry consultant at University College Hospital. He has a particular interest in the impact and treatment of trauma in youth and regularly carries out expert witness assessments as part of asylum claims for traumatised refugee adolescents.

Margaret DeJong, MDCM, FRCPsych

Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London.


Dr DeJong, who is recently retired, ran the Parenting and Child Service (PACS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital, an assessment and therapeutic service for children with a background of abuse, neglect and trauma. This included multidisciplinary expert witness work in complex child protection cases, in which she has many years' experience. She has a background in general CAMHS and paediatric liaison work, a diploma in advanced family therapy from the Tavistock Clinic and a long-standing interest in parenting difficulties relating to child protection issues.


She has published in the fields of maltreatment and paediatric liaison and conducted research into the mental health needs of adopted children.
