Rob Macpherson is Consultant Rehabilitation Psychiatrist, providing Consultant input to an assertive outreach team and a 24 hour nursed care unit in Gloucester, England. He has been a consultant for 15 years. He is also Training Programme Director for the general adult advanced training scheme in the Severn Deanery.


Rob Macpherson has had an interest in developing training, through a role in the South West Division Training Organisation and has been SW representative on the Royal College Education, Training and Standards Committee. He has active research interests in assertive outreach, needs assessment and supported accommodation.

Amjad Uppal, MBBS, MRCPsych

Amjad UppalConsultant Psychiatrist, ²gether NHS Foundation Trust


Amjad Uppal is a Consultant Psychiatrist (Working Age Adults) working with the Cheltenham Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. He also has in-patient responsibility and is the In-patient Medical Lead.


He was previously elected to represent the South West trainees in the Psychiatric Trainees Committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has represented the Psychiatric Trainees Committee in the College Workforce Committee and the South West Executive Committee.

Helen Elliott is currently Matron for Recovery Inpatient Units at 2Gether NHS Foundation Trust in Gloucestershire. She started her NHS career in Nursing in 1983 in South Wales. She is dual registered in General and Mental health nursing with over 20 years experience in mental health rehabilitation and recovery in 24-hour nursed care community environments in Gloucestershire. She is dedicated to and passionate about high quality, patient centered care.
