Rachel started her career working in mental health research at the Institute of Psychiatry following an undergraduate degree in psychology. Her other work experience includes: establishing and managing the Rapid Reporting and Response function at the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA); leading research to establish reporting time-frames and processes for serious patient safety incidents in the NHS; leading various patient safety evaluation and research projects for the NPSA; and managing national quality improvement projects and mental health audits for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Rachel is studying for her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath. Alongside her clinical training, she is undertaking research into cognitive behavioural therapy for phantom limb pain, military culture and its potential influence on individuals’ responses to musculoskeletal injury, and improving psychology outcomes from intensive care.
