Dr Neil James Margerison Adviser, Practitioner Performance Advice service, NHS Resolution 


Dr Margerison completed a first degree at Cambridge (Natural Sciences) before going on to study medicine at Kings College London.


He was appointed as consultant general adult psychiatrist in Barnet in 1989 where he worked until his retirement in 2011. He worked mainly initially in general adult psychiatry with a special interest in forensic psychiatry and psychiatric intensive care, until moving to become consultant for the Barnet Drug & Alcohol Service (2004-11).


In 1995 he was appointed Medical Director in Barnet until 2000; then joint medical director in Barnet Enfield & Haringey MHT from 2001 to 2003. He joined the National Clinical Assessment Service in 2004 (now Practitioner Performance Advice – part of NHS Resolution) and continues there as an adviser.
