Neil Greenberg, BM BSc, MMedSc, FHEA, DOccMed, MEWI, MFFLM, MD, FRCPsych

Professor Neil Greenberg Defence Professor of Mental Health, Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. Consultant Psychiatrist, Royal Navy.

 

Professor Greenberg has carried out research in a number of hostile environments including Afghanistan and Iraq, and has served in HMS MONMOUTH, HMS SPARTAN, and as Regimental Medical Officer to two Royal Marines Commando units.

 

He has published more than 100 scientific papers and book chapters and has presented to national and international audiences on matters concerning the psychological health of the UK armed forces. In 2008 he was awarded the Gilbert Blane Medal by the Royal Navy for his work in supporting the health of Naval personnel through his research work. He specialises in general adult, forensic and liaison psychiatry.

Paul Lewis, BSc(Hons), MBBS, DCH, MRCGP, DRCOG, MRCPsych

Dr Paul LewisPsychiatry ST5/SpR (Military) Trainee, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Dr Lewis joined the British Army under the Medical Cadetship Scheme in 1994 whilst training at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. He completed the Professional Officers Course at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, and deployed to Macedonia and Kosovo in 1999. He has also served in Northern Ireland and deployed with a cavalry regiment to Iraq in 2005 prior to commencing his training in psychiatry.

 

Dr Lewis completed vocational GP training in 2003 and commenced psychiatric training in 2006. His special interests include resilience and personality disorder.

Elizabeth Hunt, MA, BM BCh (Oxon)

Dr Elizabeth HuntPsychiatry Core (Military) Trainee, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Dr Hunt graduated from Oxford University in 2006 and completed foundation training in Poole Hospital, Dorset. During her F2 job she went through the Army Officer Selection Board and attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in 2008. She deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 as a general duties medical officer, and on her return was attached to a cavalry unit in Germany.

 

Dr Hunt has always been interested in the mental health of soldiers, and in August 2010 she began her psychiatric training.
