An introduction to mindfulness

In this module you will learn about mindfulness and how this ancient meditation practice now plays a part in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, with a particular focus on approaches that stem from mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR).


In addition to expanding your knowledge of mindfulness, we hope that you will engage with this module at an experiential level and so have included some brief meditation practices for you to try as well. The experiential elements of this module make it a little different to most of our other CPD Online modules.


If it is possible, we recommend that you work through this module in a quiet place and at a time when you will not be interrupted or feel that you need to rush.
